You wont be able to switch on the TV or radio this week without hearing about the Expo! Tuesday morning, be sure to watch KUTV Channel 2s 2 News This Morning between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. because the Weather with Sterling segment will be broadcast from The Living Planet Aquarium. Go behind-the-scenes with Sterling to find out what attendees will see Saturday at the expo in the sneak preview exhibit of The Living Planet Aquarium.
Switch channels right at 8 a.m. to Fox 13 to see one of our entertainment line-up, Diane Roberg and her amazing Dazzle Dogzz. They (the dogs) will be performing and (Diane will be) talking about the Expo between 8 and 9 a.m. on Good Day Utah. After that, grab a snack, and turn it to KTVX Channel 4s Good Things Utah from 9:30 a.m. 11 a.m. to see another one of our featured entertainers, Patty (Rayman) Pet Psychic. Patty will communicate with the Paws Applause animal of the week, brought on the show for adoption by Temma Martin of Salt Lake County Animal Services. Patty will be joined by Jennifer Pond, of our event management team and PR Coordinator of the Expo.
Wednesday morning, be sure to listen to B98.7s Todd & Erin radio show from 8 a.m. 8:30 a.m. to hear more about the event. And Thursday, watch us again on Fox 13s Good Day Utah from 8 a.m. 9 a.m. Well also be on Star 102.7FM, KSL Radio and more next week! Watch for our feature articles in the major newspapers across the state, and check out our billboard on 7400 South and 900 East.

Now you can register online for any or all of the fun contests that will take place during the Pet and Companion Expo including the frog jumping contest and many others. Coming in from out of town? The Pet and Companion Expo has negotiated special room rates for our out-of-town guests. The Courtyard by Marriott, 10701 South Holiday Park Drive, Sandy, UT, (Tel: (801) 571-3600) is offering a rate of $69 per night. They have a free shuttle to the Expo Center however they do not allow pets. The Marriott Residence Inn, 270 West 10000 South (801) 561-5005) does allow pets, offers a free shuttle to the expo center and a room rate of $79 per night. The Sleep Inn, 10676 So. 300 West (Tel: (801) 572-2020) is offering a room rate of $59 per night. They are also pet friendly but have no shuttle service.
Discount Admission Available. There are several ways for visitors to receive discounted admission to the show. Anyone presenting a Utahs Hogle Zoo Family Pass, a Tracy Aviary Annual Gate Pass or a Smiths Fresh Values Card, will receive $1 off general and senior admission to the expo. KCPW (88.3 FM Radio) members will receive 2 for 1 admission with their KCPW member card. A $1 off discount coupon is available at the pet show web site. Exhibitors, print out the coupon from the web page and distribute it to your customers. We also have an e-mailable version to pass along to friends and clients. Intermountain Therapy Animals and the Expos Charitable Donation
Intermountain Therapy Animals (ITA) is the primary non-profit organization which will receive a portion of the proceeds from the Utah Pet & Companion Expo 2003. ITAs mission is to enhance quality of life through the human/animal bond. They recruit, screen and train people and their pets to bring animal resources to people in need. ITA volunteers make regular visits to those who are physically or developmentally disabled, emotionally or psychologically impaired, lonely or suffering from depression. All these services are free of charge to both client and facility. Now in their 10th year, ITA is one of the largest groups of this kind in the United States, with more than 250 Pet Partner teams doing animal-assisted therapy at more than 75 hospitals, counseling centers, nursing facilities, detention homes, extended care centers and schools.
